Southscope is a Charlotte, N.C., US based company incorporated in 1992 as the continuation of Layman Plastics, Corp. a profile extrusion business that has designed and manufactured products using the extrusion process since 1979.

The name changed because the nature of the business evolved to include the distribution of products unrelated to plastic but rather encompassing newly developed technologies and utilizing new processes like nanotechnology.

Southscope is committed to environmentally friendly products and involved only with cost-effective and "green" production methods.

About Zydex products distribution:

Today, we supply a new world wide patented water penetrating, water repellent based on nanotechnology that reacts with cementitious materials like concrete, brick, stone and other silica-based materials to form a breathable seal that can keep water at bay for decades.

Zycosil is the only water deluded repellant of its kind, chemically altering the makeup of the cementitious material to a depth of as much as 4 mm. Zycosil properly deluded in water can be easily sprayed, rolled or brushed on to surfaces.

Because no toxic chemicals are involved, the Zycosil application requires no protective gear and will not harm the environment.

Technologically superior to other water repellants, Zycosil is also surprisingly less expensive.

Zycosil can be used anywhere a silica-based (cementitious) material needs protection from water intrusion, mold, mildew, fungus, staining, or efflorescence.
